PGT Announces Vice President Promotion for North Carolina Operations

N. VENICE, FLA. – January 7, 2010 – PGT, Inc. (NASDAQ: PGTI), one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of residential impact-resistant windows and doors, today announced the promotion of Monte Burns to Vice President of North Carolina Operations. In this role, Monte will oversee all operations in PGT’s Salisbury, NC plant, including manufacturing, supply chain, logistics and the company’s inventory to ensure that product supply effectively meets customer demand. He will also support PGT’s growth strategy for the development and sales of new vinyl framed products into expanded territories.

Burns will report directly to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Jeff Jackson and will be a member of the company’s executive management team.

During his 22-year tenure with PGT, Burns has held multiple positions in a variety of departments throughout the Company including: Group Leader for Eze Breeze, Industrial Engineer, Area Leader of Transportation and Fleet, Area Leader of Manufacturing, Business Unit Manager for NatureScape, and most recently, Plant Superintendent of NC Operations.

“Over his long career with PGT, Monte has many noteworthy accomplishments that make him the ideal person to spearhead our North Carolina operations and to develop strategic initiatives that will enable PGT’s operations to be scalable to changing market needs,” said Jeff Jackson, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. “Burns has proved he can streamline and reduce operational costs, while improving profit margins, which will help position PGT for more growth in the future.

“Among his accomplishments at PGT, Burns most recently led the implementation of the Series 2100, 2200, 2300 and Curtain Wall product lines in the North Carolina plant. He has also worked on the team that designed PGT’s order fulfillment computer system and managed the Aluminum WinGuard® product line implementation. He was a key member and driver of the Multi-Story product implementation in 2001, as well as the Eterna™ product research, design, and product implementation in 2004. Other achievements include key involvement in the Binnings acquisition integration, the NatureScape retail store development, and the retrofit of the 393,000 sq. ft. facility in Salisbury, NC in 2006.
