VENICE, Fla. May 29, 2007 – PGT President and CEO Rod Hershberger is one of 25 finalists for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year 2007 Award in Florida.
Hershberger was selected in the category of manufacturing and distribution from the West Florida region. Taking the helm in 2004, Hershberger is only the third president in the custom window and door manufacturer's 26-year history. He advanced through the PGT ranks, having served as Vice President of Customer Relations, Vice President of Manufacturing, Executive Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer. Today, he is the last original shareholder in management and the only company founder still with the company. He took PGT public last year. PGT Industies is a wholly owned subisdiary of PGT, Inc. (NASDAQ:PGTI). The company employs more than 2,000.
